Boards are often used to build things, such as tabletops or doors. But it is also a geometrical surface which invites us to project and imagine things, and also to draw lines. Surfaces, shapes and lines affect our perception and understanding of things: they can divide or define territories, attribute meaning and convey a sensation or an idea. SURD uses a board to play with the articulation between sensual qualities of things and abstraction. In a very literal way, the board pivots, looking for the tipping points.
